Kristine Geer’s roles as a professional educator, researcher in statistics and financial education, and parent advocate for her daughter with special needs have led to her career as a financial advisor. Kristy began her professional life following her interest in youth and education. She taught math, science, and health to secondary students, receiving the Silver Knight Award for her work above and beyond professional expectations. Her concern about the lack of preparation for youth regarding their financial futures inspired her to make this the focus of her master’s degree from the University of Washington. In 2008, she and her husband added to their family of four with the adoption of a daughter from Thailand.
Kristy has been recognized for contributions to statistical research on large data sets, written and taught youth financial education curriculum, and served on the boards of two local non-profit organizations. She lives in Woodinville, Washington with her husband Ron and their youngest daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, growing food, and times when her two oldest children come home and obliterate the kitchen with cooking projects.
